Pitch Perfect: Preparing life sciences companies for investment

Last month, our Director of Programs and Ecosystem Development, Paramita Chaudhuri Basu, joined by Arden Tse, VC Investment Manager at Yaletown Partners, and Dr. Sabina Bruehlmann, CEO at Nimble Science, hosted an online API Education Session: Pitching for Investment for Life Sciences, to help set up entrepreneurs for a successful Life Sciences Investment Summit.

PrairiesCan announced over $2.1M in funding to support innovative technologies for seniors

Last month, Prairies Economic Development Canada announced over $2.1M in funding to the Glenrose Hospital Foundation to launch the Accelerating Industry Applications for Human Mobility, Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) and Home Health Technologies project.

The project aims to address the significant demand for mobility and home health technologies that will help enhance the quality of life of Alberta seniors with physical or cognitive disability. 

This funding will allow the Glenrose Hospital to acquire equipment and develop testing facilities to help Alberta technology firms commercialize their innovative health solutions and bring them into the market.

Call for Proposals – New Networks

The Accelerating Clinical Trials (ACT-AEC) Canada, funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), is calling for proposals to fund the development of new trial networks.

A total of $900,000 is available to fund 6 new trial networks in areas of need, with special interest for the creation of a network focusing on mental health. Applications are open until January 29th.
