API was founded on the principle that building an innovative and vibrant life sciences sector requires a framework that trains highly qualified persons on industry projects at the pace of industry while pulling together the expertise of research-intensive institutions across Canada. Together, we develop talent and help build companies from early stages of development through access to facilities, research collaborations, personalized coaching, training, and expert guidance in product development and business expertise.

Associate Director, Program Activation
Andrea Eriksson is recognized for the energy and enthusiasm she brings to every project she undertakes. She excels at fostering connections and bringing people together to spearhead new initiatives.
Andrea holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta and a Master of Global Management from Royal Roads University. Her diverse experience spans startup consulting, economic development, and curriculum innovation.
Andrea has worked with startups to craft business and marketing plans, later joining Edmonton Economic Development to assist companies with international expansion strategies, lead trade missions, and host investor delegations. She then contributed to program development at NorQuest College’s Continuing Education division, including launching the institution’s first mass open online course. In the private sector, Andrea served as a Product Manager for PRIMED Medical Products, overseeing the medical mask portfolio.
Currently, as Associate Director, Program Activation, at API she combines her startup expertise, curriculum development background, and private health sector experience to deliver innovative incubator programing and events.
