MacIsaac received the award for API’s drive to secure game-changing support for the life sciences sector. With the collaboration of other community champions, API has accomplished a lot this year. For example, Edmonton City Council approved the lot lease for the CCDI manufacturing facility to be built at the Edmonton Research Park. We also launched the inaugural Life Sciences Week in September to highlight the success and potential of the sector in Alberta, which was only possible due to the support and collaboration of several ecosystem partners. Alongside these key initiatives, our team continues to develop programs and support projects that accelerate the growth and highlight the potential of the industry.

The ASTech Awards, supported by Technology Alberta, recognize and celebrate individuals and organizations in the Alberta science and technology community. This year, they aimed to reach many parts of the province through 2 events – adding an event in Edmonton to complement Calgary’s gala. API’s team participated across both events as panelists, conversation hosts, and guests.

The Grand Opening Ceremonies were held on October 27 at MacEwan University’s Allard Hall in Edmonton. This event kicked off with an opening address from the Honourable Nate Glubish, Minister of Technology and Innovation.
